Privacy Policy

The short version. Swipe Gallery does not collect, transmit or store any personal data. It has no accounts, no servers and no analytics. Your photos and videos are read on your device, are never uploaded anywhere, and are only ever deleted when you ask for it.
1. Who we are
Swipe Gallery ("the app") is published by Atyuttama Enterprises LLP ("we", "us"). This policy explains how the app handles information. It applies to the iOS version of Swipe Gallery available on the App Store.
2. What the app accesses on your device
To do its job, the app asks iOS for permission to read your photo library, and for permission to modify it so that it can delete the items you choose. You can grant full access or select a limited set of photos; both work, and you can change or withdraw this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos.
With that permission, and entirely on your device, the app:
- reads the size, type and creation date of each photo and video, to measure your storage and group items by year;
- reads parts of the file contents to identify exact duplicates, by comparing file sizes and a content fingerprint;
- decodes photos at a reduced size to measure sharpness, so it can suggest which shots are out of focus;
- displays your photos and videos so you can decide what to keep.
All of this happens locally. None of it is sent off the device, and the app makes no network requests in the course of doing it.
If you choose a profile photo, the app uses the iOS photo picker and copies the image you select into the app's own private storage on the device.
3. What we collect
Nothing. We do not collect personal data, and we have no servers that receive it. Specifically, the app has:
- no user accounts, sign-up or sign-in;
- no analytics, tracking, advertising or crash-reporting services;
- no advertising identifiers, and no tracking across apps or websites;
- no uploads of photos, videos, files or their contents, ever.
Because we collect nothing, there is nothing for us to sell, share or hand over, and no profile of you exists on our side.
4. What is stored on your device
The app keeps a small amount of information in its own private storage on your phone, so that it can work and remember your progress:
- Your local profile — the name, phone number, email address and profile photo you optionally enter on the Profile screen. These are for display inside the app only. They are never transmitted and never leave the device.
- Your cleanup streak — how many days in a row you have cleaned, how many items you have removed and roughly how much space you have freed.
- A cache of measurements — file sizes and scan results, kept so repeat scans are faster.
This data is held in the app's sandboxed storage, which other apps cannot read. Deleting the app removes all of it. If your device backs up to iCloud or a computer, this data may be included in that backup, which is controlled by your own Apple settings rather than by us.
5. Deleting photos
Nothing is deleted automatically. Swiping only marks an item; the deletion happens when you tap the button to confirm it, and iOS then shows its own confirmation dialog before anything is removed.
Items you delete go to Recently Deleted in the Photos app, where iOS keeps them for around 30 days before removing them permanently. You can recover them there if you change your mind. We cannot recover anything for you, because we never had a copy of it.
6. Third parties
The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising or data-collection services, and sends no data to any third party.
Apple distributes the app and, independently of us, collects its own information about App Store downloads and — if you have chosen to share it — crash and usage statistics. We may see this only as anonymous, aggregated figures that cannot identify you. Apple's handling of that information is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not this one.
7. Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age. Since it collects no personal data at all, there is no children's data for us to hold or delete.
8. Your control and choices
Privacy rights such as access, correction, deletion and portability exist to give you control over data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to return or erase. The controls that matter are on your device and belong entirely to you:
- grant, narrow or withdraw photo access in Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos;
- edit or clear your local profile details on the Profile screen;
- delete the app to remove everything it has stored.
9. Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes what it does with information — for example by adding an optional account so your streak can follow you to a new phone — we will update this policy before that version ships, and change the date at the top. The current version of the app behaves exactly as described here.
